Just got back and realized its a dry day here. I knew I should have went to the duty free shop at the airport!!!

it's only today then everything is back to normal.

A mom and pop shop will sell..

It was dry yesterday too, wasn't it? My favorite veggie restaurant closes every time they can't sell beer.

Bought today, (Mom&Pop style shop) of course there's a sign outside saying "no alcohol today". Guess that's only to keep the police away. tongue.png

It is not illegal for everyone to sell alcohol. If you can afford a big hotel you are exempt.

The National Alcohol Policy Committee states that nobody is allowed to sell alcohol products on Magha Puja Day, Vesakha Puja Day, Asalha Puja Day and Buddhist Lent Day. However, alcohol can be sold in hotels so as not to affect the tourism industry negatively.
