Change Of Passport

Featured Replies

I have arrived into thailand on 60 days Tourist Visa with my old Passport. Now have I recived a new Passport by my embassy in Bangkok, in a few weeks I shall goto the immigration and apply for a retirement Visa and would like to have that Visa in my new Passport, would that work without any problem?

Im aware about the 800k on the Bank.

Do no believe anyone but the immigration officer can answer that as normal procedure is for process to take place on exit when here on a visa entry and the passport you would have for an extension of stay does not have a visa or any entry that can be changed. So with luck they will transfer stamps and allow the new non immigrant visa issue but would not rate it 100% chance of success.

If I use my old passport for my retirement visa. Is it possible to get it transfer to my new passport later (my problem is that on my old passport I dont have any more pages for more stamps and I travel quite offen)

Yes it can be transferred - current stamp will be for validity of passport and then new one arrives you will get the full stay stamped into that during transfer process.

But if you already have replacement passport your old one is invalid so not an option for you.
