Pakistani held for ATM card scam

The Nation on Sunday

BANGKOK: -- A Pakistani man was arrested for ATM card theft following the seizure of a skimmer device, a closed-circuit TV camera and 34 fake electronic cards from his apartment in Bangkok's Suan Luang district, police announced yesterday.

Mohammad Adeep, or Hasim, 45, was arrested after Krungthai Bank's Bang Khen branch found the skimmer and camera at its ATM machine and filed a complaint on July 31.

He reportedly confessed, telling police that two Romanian men, believed to have already fled Thailand, invited him to commit the crime by using the cards to withdraw cash, of which he could keep 20 per cent. Police are hunting for Adeep's accomplices and urged those who believe they are victims to help identify the man and check the fake cards at Bang Khen precinct.

How can victims of credit card ATM scamming "help to identify the man?"

Are you a victim? IF not, then you have no stake, why do you even care? oh yea, cause you want to criticize someone's poor use of grammar, I bet that makes you feel better! bandwagon troll

The Pakistan man is blaming Roman guys. Yea right! In America we always tell the police that a black man did it. He does not want to blame his terrorist friends.

how did they even catch him?

if he leaves his scanner and camera at an ATM machine,,, and the bank made a report to the police.. then how would they catch him? he isn't there!

he would only be there when he comes to 'pick up' his device.. (which I am sure doesnt take more than a minute or two)...

logistically: I don't think the police would have police there 24/7 just to wait for him to arrive at the scene of the crime.

- are you saying that the banks own 'G4' security guys held him?

i think that was a reasonable question..

nothing to do with grammar.

and i'd say the police caught the pakistani man from video surveilance of the atm and its surrounds.

perhaps they captured the number plate of his vehicle.
