Hi Folks,

A Pal of mine intend to visit UK for 3 weeks. He is in full time employment. Has a dependant family(wife and a son). His wages is reasonable. His Uncle has volounteer to sponsored the trip. Does the Sponsor need to state the reason why he is sponsoring him.

British high commission can be funny sometimes.

Cheers

A sponsor is not just the person who pays for the trip, they are also the reason for the visit; the person the visitor is visiting. So, yes, a sponsor needs to show a relationship with the applicant and say why they are sponsoring them.

There is, however, no need for a visitor to have a sponsor at all; for example if they will be staying in hotels and paying for the trip themselves.

You may find UK Visit Visa Basics Helpful.

Thailand does not have a British High Commission; only Commonwealth countries do.

Topic title amended to include country; PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING.
