Poor Customer Service Or Prejudice?

What's remarkable about this thread is the number of posters who think nothing of committing violence on someone who wafted some aerosol in their general direction and told them that they were stinky. What delicate flowers you all are laugh.png

^^^ Aah, the ole mod trait of constraint and conformity... just be yourself, man, don't let TV turn you into a lemming. What the gym dude did was reprehensible and any man not up to defending himself (or even thinking about sticking one on him) is not really a man. Op, get yourself back down there and have a word. wink.png

Yeah, but of course in real life how many do you think would actually do anything? I'm guessing none at all...>_>

Some Farangs do stink, badly.

I was on a Thai airways flight and the Farang I sat next too really stank, luckily for me the aircrew knew he stank too and as there were no more economy seats gave me an upgrade into business class, it was that bad.

Either bonobo and me both stink or we both don't because i worked out with him and besides from the normal sweating (in a gym) he did not stink. People sweat in gyms especially if they workout hard. I drench a t shirt during a workout. (but i generaly workout in my home gym)

In my gym ill beat up the owner if he pulls a stunt like that. Ill have a huge shouting match with him and then im probably picked up and sent to a psyciatic ward for talking to myself and damaging myself.

Most of us are prejudiced in one way or another.

If I met someone wearing a KKK T-shirt (with a white hood as a logo), I'd assume he was Ku Klux Klan and walk away/ignore him. Admittedly though, I wouldn't spray him with cologne saying he stinked!

But, my point stands - most of us are prejudiced in one way or another, and few of us are able to get past strongly held, prejudices to make money.

What a ridiculous post; comparing the KKK to the Jewish people. You should be ashamed of yourself.

One is an ancient culture/religion which has had a tremendous impact on world civilization.

The other is a hate groupbah.gifblink.png

how true...

But would you help him light his cross ?...rolleyes.gif

Quite. Any Western/Arab person wearing a swastika/Star of David/KKK logo knows the reference... and should understand why some people will find this offensive.

Somehow I think it would be unlikely that an Arab would be wearing a swastika, a Star of David or be accepted into the Clan, unless they have expanded into the Middle East or opened up memberships to those they consider as inferior races?

I was always under the impression that a swastika and the white ropes of the clan are symbols of hate and that the Crucifix and the Star of David are symbols of certain religious beliefs and no, I don`t understand why anyone would find a religious symbol offensive?

Not sure how you come to lump all these together and why you believe some may consider wearing a Star of David as offensive? Unless of course they have a disdain for people of the Jewish faith?

Religious intolerance belonged to the Middle Ages and there really is no room for this sort of thing in the civilised world, unless one believes in a complete totalitarian society or has extreme right wing views.

Honestly I do understand why some people find the Jewish Star of David offensive.

The Star of David is the primary symbol of Judiasm and it is also the symbol on the flag of the Jewish state of Israel, which is the nation state homeland of the Jewish people.

Many people in world hate Jews. Pretty much all of such people also hate Israel.

Many people in the world hate Israel. Some percentage of such people (not easy to determine) also of course hate Jews.

Jews have suffered anti-semitism for thousands of years. People who only know about the holocaust know very little about the long history. Anti-semitism remains today and it is very real. In some countries it is much more severe than others while in some countries it is very mild.

In Thailand I would say it is very, very mild among Thais but about moderate or more among foreigners in Thailand.

So I understand how the Star of David does offend some people.

There are environments where other religious symbols also cause offense. Such as Christian Cross in Saudi Arabia.

Thank you for the history lesson, but honestly, you don`t understand.

People can perceive and believe what they prefer to believe.

Jews have been using the Star of David as symbolic of being of the Jewish faith in Western countries for almost 2000 years, even well before the founding of the Israeli state. I know of many Jewish people that still believe in the old Jewish values but have no wish to be associated with Israel, however much the pro-Israel brigades try to equate all Jews with the so-called Jewish home land, even though the SOD originates from there. The same applies to the right wing extremists who try to promote a National flag as being equal to nationalism and national socialism. They’re all as bad as each other.

Yet I have never viewed all those wearing a Star of David as pertaining to Israel or those wearing a Crucifix as being bible-waving fanatics crying out the word of the Lord. Of course there are countries where it is advisable not to display these emblems, for example those that are in dispute with the West and Western values.

It`s all about oppression and a sense of creating fear from those who despise and somehow believe they are superior and will try to make people of certain religious groups feel uncomfortable with their faith by showing contempt and hostilities. In a way the same ploys are used against Gay communities. It`s a power thing.

Sorry, but there can be no excuses and if there are those that get wound up by the religions and nationalities of others, than they need to deal with it, because it`s their problem.

everyone stinks, some just take care of themselves more then others. the main reason a man takes care of himself, yep, a woman.

so what we have is a bunch of punters in Thailand who don't have much need to use deodorant, shave, or otherwise look presentable.

As I was reading this I was expecting AIS was your company, then the colors indicated True, I even just looked up their logo to confirm he hated you because you worked for True, but their logo does indeed look different.

Who cares.

If the guy was rude to you because the logo on your shirt looked like the Star of David, then that's his problem.

If you're just curious as to whether or not it was some form of prejudice, go back to the gym tomorrow wearing a yam aka.

That should clear things up for you.

No idea what you are trying to imply on your post biggunguy, but I would suggest you re-think your position.

As for the rest of it, well, its no surprise its degenerated into what it is. And people say Amazing Thailand.
