First Work Visa - Report

Featured Replies

So the wife and kids and I just finished up getting non-B and non-O's at Vientiane. A non-B for the wife, and non-O's for the kids and I. None of us are Thai. I thought I'd write up a quick report for others who might be in the same boat. In the past we've gotten by on tourist visas, or multiple-entry, non-O's from overseas honorary Thai consulates. These days though, the wife is teaching part-time at a local school, so that opened up some visa options for us.

All we needed was:

  • Her letters and work contract from the school.
  • A copy of our marriage certificate
  • copies of the kids birth certificates
  • 2k Baht per visa

and presto, visas for everyone. Much easier than a trip home, and much easier on the pocketbook than the 200 USD/person for multiple entry non-O visas that the honorary consulates now charge.

Cheers,

jn

wow, I need to get married & put my wife to work in BKK too, LOL

Did the MOE labour office give you the W.P. first, or did they make you get the Non B first?

What province are you in? You do not mention it.
