Woodcaulk
Has anyone ever met her and spoke to her in person. No, so I must assume everyone just loves to hate her. I met her in LA in the early 90s when she was visiting a Thai friend who was dating a friend of mine. The four of us went out to dinner together. My main impression at the time was that she was a typical empy-headed hi-so Thai girl. I could tell she came from money but I suppose at the time her dad wasn't super rich yet, as Chalerm, then Minister to the Prime Minister Office in charge of Thai media had only granted a monopoly to Thaksin's IBC cable TV in 1989. She was friendly though. Thaksin was relatively little known at the time, outside the business world, so her surname meant nothing to me, but she mentioned she was from Chiang Mai, where I was living at the time and I put two and two together after her father came into the govt in the late 90s. Wow...it truly is a small world. I met her in LA about that same time under similar circumstances. I came away with the same impressions as you . The thought that struck me at the time as her lips were moving and sound coming out of her pie-hole....I wonder what she looks like naked?......Here we are 20yrs later... when she moves her lips and sound comes out of her pie-hole I still think...I wonder what she looks like naked? Trouble
Think Michelle Obama was like number 8. How can she outrank the head of a country. Don't know how they get the ratings but I surely Yingluck has more of an affect on peoples lives that Mrs. Obama who hardly is even in the news. The whole list is a bunch of crap. Popular Post tranquillize
It doesn't matter what the topic is about, as soon as a Shinawatra is mentioned all the cynical old grumps on this forum start bashing. Predictable like clockwork.
FOODLOVER
Yeah, she's got power. Told where to go to school, where to work, what job to do, when to become number one on the PTP list, what policies to use, who to pick in her cabinet... All the power of a glove puppet. A true role model to independent women everywhere. You have proof? Take a read there is plenty of proof out there. She has never been appointed to a position without her brother in fact when he sold his shares in one company she was immediately removed and the position eliminated. She has never worked for anything in her life except for being pretty.

Amazing that Mrs Obama is only number 8. Just how powerful a thing is it to be the confidant of the President and to be the one who engages in pillow talk with him? The first Lady is in a very very powerful position, I mean if they suggest something and the President doe not comply they can withdraw the daily BJ (cue for young interns to be popular in the Oval Office!). What was that old saying, ? behind every successful man there is a .............etc etc.
Ricardo
What a load of cynics you guys are. Yingluck is an honest noble polite individual that insults no one. Further Yingluck has poise remarkably good dress sense presents herself with good humor and respect for her nation and peers and home and abroad. She has the respect and attention of leaders across the Americas and Europe. The reality is that she leads with dignity and respect which is very refreshing in Thai politics. If anyone here in Thailand can lead the people to the reconcilation of the Nation She is the one. "respect and attention of leaders across the Americas and Europe" That quote is right up there, with describing her clone-brother as a "famous world statesman", which I also recall reading recently ! chooka
Forbes is part of the group of rich banker, Industry tycoons and political heavyweights who rules the world. It is as significant as if I rank myself as the most handsome man ever born.... Now that would be ridiculous because I am already number 1. chooka
Yes, and Aung San Suu Kyi on 19 see here Now I know this rating is rubbish, Julia Gillard is above Yingluk at number 27. As female Prime Ministers go they seem to be ranked pretty much on par at 27 and 30. But realistically when it comes to integrity, intelligence and honesty Yingluk leaves her rival for dead. A far better P.M and should be above Juliar.

Agree, like her or loathe her she does not deserve to be treated with such disrespect and humiliated in such a fashion as to be placed below her fellow female P.M Julia. I would gladly do a swap with Thailand for P.M's With Julia at the wheel of Thailand you would really see a circus of clowns in action. A lot of people on here just do not know how good Yingluk and the Thai Government is because you have nothing to compare it with. Australians do. rixalex
Has anyone ever met her and spoke to her in person. No, so I must assume everyone just loves to hate her. What a ridiculous thing to say. If someone says they dislike Mugabe, do you accuse them of loving to hate him because they have never met or spoken to him? Get real! She's not Mugabe. I wish her luck. I didn't say she was Mugabe! Shesh, what is it about Thaivisa whereby there is always one who seems oblivious of the concept of an analogy? OK, to dumb it down, it's not necessary to have met Mugabe, just as it is not necessary to have met Obama, just as it is not necessary to have met Mother Teresa, just as it is not necessary to have met Lady Gaga etc etc, to form some opinion on them, based on what they do, what they say. The idea that everyone must reserve their opinion on Yingluck on the basis that they have never met her, is a complete nonsense. Especially as it is quite obvious that the ones saying that, clearly have themselves very strong opinions on her.... well, i say "strong opinion", perhaps "an infatuated crush" would better describe it.
rijb
Oh, get over yourself. I'll dumb it down for you too. You made a ridiculous analogy to shut down an opposing view. bigbamboo
Yingluck is partly there to show a respectable and attractive side to Thai politics........ a nigh on impossible job, lets face it but she does it quite well. But she has as much power as one of Plodrasop's flood busting propellers.

The only people who think the government has failed are in the opposition, and honestly I would be surprised if they thought otherwise. While you guys are having fun with your fist grade jokes the big boys are running the country. Better this way than the other way around. There are facts. Yingluck despite what all the naysayers predicted is still in charge after one year and still going strong. You're in total denial, what can I say ? Just let's join the fun, it doesn't arm anybody. rixalex
The only people who think the government has failed are in the opposition, and honestly I would be surprised if they thought otherwise. They haven't failed, but they are failing in a large number of key areas. You don't need to be in opposition to see that. Just have two open eyes. Yingluck despite what all the naysayers predicted is still in charge after one year and still going strong. Going strong? LOL. It's the way you tell 'em. OK, well I didn't expect, nor did i hope for anything else, than for PTP to see out their term. I believe it has been those from the red camp, such as Jatuporn, who has been predicting that they would not be given the chance.
blueshark
Absolute <deleted>. Who at Forbes is dreaming this rubbish up. They obviously haven't been doing their homework.
