Topics Running Out?

Featured Replies

Do you think that topics on this and other forums are repeated because people are finding it hard to think of decent topics that haven't been covered?

I for one think that only a few bits and pieces can last. I read about flight prices, where to buy this and that, how to get this visa and that, whats this about, who would do that etc. etc.;

Surely, someone, and it's not me, can think of something different to ask?

Ok, let the bashing of my post start!!

There's plenty more....millions in fact.

The Thais are always thinking up new angles bless their cotton socks.

Wait!! Have you ever seen a street vendor wearing socks?

Over to you.....:D

Ever been given free food by one of them?

Just out of sheer kindness.....?

I have never been so insulted.............

Right OP.........we had a topic along the same lines back in January to my recollection.......

I believe around 55% of the TV membership read TV but never post.

There is also a healthy contingent that post but never start a topic.......there is a topic on that matter in the farang pub forum.

Being the shy type, as I obviously am, I find myself reluctant to start new topics.

However your call to arms has invigorated me.......I will dig deep and overcome my inate shyness and I will post 3, yes, 3 new topics.

I will expect you to do the same.........lets go!!!!!

ps If I get flamed I'm blaming you.

Just so you know.

Every year we go through a slow period from about now to the end of October. After that the high season travellers start showing up for advice, and the ebbing of the rains puts people in a better mood. The trends haven't changed in a decade.

Hate to see you as an extrovert then. biggrin.png

Yes.

There is one lady we alway buy vegetable from her. Every time she insist to give us something. Something new to try, or after she had weighted and we have paid, add a little bit more. And we have checked she sell the same price or cheaper than other vendors in the market.

And the other guy selling pig knuckles. He gives us bones for our dogs for free. Always look for those with still some meat on them. Never accept money.

"Surely, someone, and it's not me, can think of something different to ask?"

And the irony is, you have just thought of something different to ask by starting this thread.

Keep those fresh ideas coming!

So, you are implying that people actually sit at a computer with nothing better to do than think of decent topics to start, or something different to ask on a forum.

Amazing!!! “Life” must have a totally different meaning for some people. biggrin.png

Its normal to see the following:

1. Q&A . Where to buy stuffs? What to buy? Passport loss? Apartment rental? House mortgage?

2. Problems with wives n their family

3. Trolling about the government policies; which does not affect most farang.

4. Where to meet good girls/ farang girls?

These r the common ones.

Most of the members r either too free in the office or just trolling in front of the computer. But it is the only English, forum in Thailand I know of.

Do ghosts have to change their clothes ?

Thai visa have to safeguard themselves under the laws, so anything that is considered too controversial is quickly shut down and most subjects have to be Thai and Thailand related, so that places more limitations on topics.

But there are many different categories of forums on Thai visa and perhaps still much of interest to discuss. I think that many members forget that there is a lot more to Thai visa than just the General forum, although for obvious reasons the general forum is the most popular and receives the most views, so many prefer to use that forum when they begin new threads, plus for some reasons others intend to be confused as to which forums their topics pertain to.

Putting things into perspective, Thai visa give as the means, but it is up to all the members to use their own initiatives and creative talents to generate constructive topics that are going to hold the interest and produce responses from other posters, instead of relying on others to cough up with the goods. It`s as our blethy says; a high percentage of members read the posts but never or hardly ever participate and just don`t contribute anything towards the forums. So this is really the problem, that there ain`t enough of us opening threads or posting which limits the disparity and diversity of topics published.

The solution is; that more Thai visa members should pull their fingers out and participate more.

Never run out of topics, there has not been jet ski scams in jomtien, big Al's gym on second road closing,I have been unfaithful to my Thai wife, the list goes on and on.

Do ghosts have to change their clothes ?

Clothes are a figment of your imagination

It's because the things that are spoken about never change. The only change are the visitors to a forum. So therefore things get repeated and only the older members realise it was done 6 months ago, and every 6 months before that.

I tried, no response, must be no good at it or not a troll thread. Looks like the crap gets all the attention, I will re think.
