What Hardware/Software Does One Need To Convert Keyboard To Thai Alphabet?

One thing I thought worth exploring was to find out if Windows 7 OS has the functionality of choosing "language" when setting up.

If it's just a simple matter of selecting language, then purchasing a laptop in my country with genuine OS and accompanying serial numbers would address a major issue.

Living here, this would allow me to buy at very sharp prices with a strong AUS$ and give some wriggle room for international warranty.

In my country OS is sold at a very small fraction of the normal price when it's being used with a new PC.

I think on my last Desktop the software was 25% of the price in comparison to buying OS for an upgrade.

Sorry.

I believe this was answered earlier.

I'll need Windows 7 Ultimate.

I'll have to price it.

Armed with the luxury of time, I've done a little more research regarding the purchase of a laptop for a young Thai student.

I'm happy to be corrected, but my feeling is, when looking for an electrical bargain in Thaialnd, the high wholesale price seems to govern the availability of genuine discounting.

In Australia there is considerable market competition with retail groups offering very keen pricing.

When hunting down a bargain in Bangkok, any discount seemed to come off the retailers tiny margin, but over here there are healthy margins for all.

My PC rep in Melbourne advised me as follows.

Warranty: He said if I'm looking for worldwide warranty I should purchase an ASUS Laptop as they automatically come with a 12 month worldwide warranty.

Thai Language: He indicated, that although Oz laptops don't have the Thai Keyboard, purchased with Windows 7 Ultimate, a virtual keyboard operated from a mouse can be a solution.

Pricing: He advised to visit him in December when his company clears out the current crop of premium laptops at a fraction of the price. E.G: I7 chip with 8 Meg of Ram for around 12,000 baht.

Software: He quoted genuine Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate for around 4,500 baht.

Decisions:

Buy a Thai Laptop with Thai keyboard, but pay too much or compromise on specs and deal with pirated software, or

Buy a top spec Australian model with legal software and worlwide warranty and rely on software driven keyboard.
