I asked experienced expats for their lists. I did all 6-7 of the docs.

I chatted with an Immigration person who told me that wife did not need to go with me to KK for renewal process.

The meeting was disastrous. I was sent home with a checklist 10-12 items long, and numerous documents

I cannot identify because the entire packet was all in Thai script. The receiving clerk told me to come here

for the checklist in english. I've not found anywhere. And, I was told my wife MUST accompany me. I don't

know if there is a special checklist of docs she must present. Now, I am faced with only 5 days to make all

these corrections and for my wife to be free from her constant career travel. I don't have time to be safe here.

I need whatever information anyone can provide to Thank you.

Oh, yes, the Immigration person told me that if I were to changeover to a 90-day visitor visa request by crossing over

into Laos, that I would be refused said visa.

I think you are talking about a 12 month extension based on having a Thai Wife.

All Immigration Offices will be different but this is a rough guide.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.

OR.

Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.

Marriage Certificate

Marriage Registry entry.

Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.

Your Passport.

Copies of everything.

Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.

A map showing the way to your house.

Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.

Take your Wife to be interviewed.

You might even have to take 2 witnesses.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month and get the remainder.

To extend you visa for the first time on the basis of marriage you will need:

1) Your wife

2 A Thai that has known you both personally for some time (not family)

3) Copy of your passport - best to do ALL pages

4) Marriage Certificate

5) Marriage confirmation - from any Or-bor-tor office (stating you are still married)

6) Tabien Bann - or lease/rent agreement (of the residence you live in)

7) Wife's I'd card

8) Bank statement showing at least 400,000 baht (already on deposit for more than 2 months)

9 Copy of bank book (every page)

10) Map showing the location of where you live.

11) Photograph(s) of the two of you together.

12) 1,900 Baht

13 Passport style photo of youself

Copy the whole lot, and take 2 complete sets to immigartion ....one wife will be sufficient :-)

In all cases both the wife and her ID card and home register will be basic requirements. Marriage certificate and ledger entry (KR2 and KR3 if marriage in Thailand or marriage certificate in Thai or English and District Office recording of it (KR22).. Requirement for a Thai witness by vary by location. Other items listed above will normally be required, including copy of your departure card.
