Chiang Mai To Tokyo Flight Recommendations?

Featured Replies

I have to fly to Tokyo in a few months. Not only do the flights seem expensive, the seem to take way too long?

Can anybody recommend something?

(Besides "Stay Home.")

Is it no longer possible to edit posts?

You can edit it for a specified amount of time. Something like 30 minutes. Hover your mouse pointer to highlight the Edit link.

All flights to Tokyo will involve a stop somewhere; Bangkok usually, or Hong Kong or Seoul (Both of those about 9 hours 40 mins incl. a 2+ hour wait in Bangkok, Hong Kong or Seoul). That may be why it seems to take long? The flight time is just what it is.

Via Bangkok is actually a bit faster even though it's a detour, because there are so many CNX-BKK flights so you spend less time waiting. (Actually you spend most of that time walking due to Suvybunny's exercise-promoting layout. :/ )

The airlines to check out are Thai Airways, Korean Air and Dragon Air / Cathay

Yeah,,, wot he said... I make this trip often, and if I want to fly directly to Chiang Mai, I always have to stop in Seoul for an hour or so. Once, several years ago, I was able to get a direct Chiang Mai to Osaka (which was my desired destination) with no stops, but I had to pay through the nose for the privilege.
