September 4, 201213 yr I'm moving back to Pattaya after a long stay in Phuket. I read that I'm supposed to go to immigration in Jomtien and inform them of my new address within 24 hours. If i don't I could get a 5000 baht fine. Is that correct?
September 4, 201213 yr Yes the law says that but very few Immigration Offices know and enforce this. I tried this a few years ago in Samui and they had no idea and the form was filed in the bin. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/files/file/15-tm28-form-for-aliens-to-notify-their-change-of-address-or-their-stay-in-the-province-over-24-hours/
September 4, 201213 yr If you are staying somewhere that no one else is responsible for doing the reporting, you are supposed to do it yourself. For example, staying in a condo that you own. Up to you. It's painless enough and they will re-start your 90 day clock for reporting.
September 4, 201213 yr By law you are required to do yourself regardless of where you are living when here on a non immigrant entry. But as said this is not actively enforced by most (not enough manpower) so next 90 day report is normally what is suggested. Landlord reporting is a different report.
September 7, 201213 yr It's painless enough and they will re-start your 90 day clock for reporting. When I filed a TM.28 here in Hua Hin, it did not affect the timing of my next 90-day report.
