As was browsing Ford's website, I noticed that they are selling off the old Ford Escape: 1.099.000 THB for the 4x4 XLT version, vs 1.279.000 THB before... The 2WD is now at 999.000 THB.

At this price, it might interest some people who need an easy to drive monocoque SUV, although the tech is antiquated and furthermore it is a 2.3 petrol engine.

Retrospectively, I feel better not to have bought the Escape a few weeks ago. I would have had it really bitter by now. This is a further lesson to avoid going with your emotions when buying a car. I had factored in a hefty depreciation for Ford, but although I had an inkling, I never imagined the depreciation would hit right out of the sale. LOL

The escape had some good points but now the model is outdated, The depreciation was OK until a few years ago. No sales are low so Ford discount, which will no doubt upset recent buyers and depress resale.

Moral of the story is be careful buying cars approaching their use by date, unless you plan of keeping them for years and do not care about resale.
