i only need a new 30 day if i was to fly out to cambodia and stay two nights then fly back would this allow me a new 30 day stamp???

It depends on your nationality.

But if you qualify, you can return the same day/hour. There is no requirement to spend a minimum amount of time outside Thailand.

The Cambodian immigration argued with me a couple of years ago that I have to stay 24 hours to qualify as a tourist and refused to stamp me out.
