L&m Cigarette Shortage In 7-11 Stores Pattaya

Does anyone know why there is a L&M Cigarette shortage in 7-11 stores around Pattaya right now (Thursday Afternoon) ?

It might be a knock on effect of the recent increase in cigarette excise duty.

There may have been a run on the wholesalers/hoarding and now a shortage as a result.

That's my thoughts anyway!

I noticed the same thing yesterday. Not 1 pack in 7-11 so had to buy another cheap brand. Hopefully today they will have. Actually it wasn't only L&M.

Maybe the wholesalers are doing the hording, waiting for the price rise, sounds like a big operation, not just some small guy hording.

There were plenty of L&M Red in the Family Mart store on soi Yamato last night.

Today still none in the 7-11's. I went to a mama/papa store to get mine but no blue, only red.

i was in 7/11 in Khao Lak today and the customer standing in front of me was very upset because they didn't have any LM:s..maybe it's the same all over the country..

Yep -- not easy --- but you can get if you search on a wider scale.

Not only LM's I had to go to 5 stores before I could find Marlboro lights. Then I bought the last 3 packs.

The cigarette displays where mostly 80% empty?

Yeah same here, nearly 80% empty. I hope there is some news in the papers or something soon because I can't stand those crap Thai smokes.

Has anyone else tried Foodland etc? I might have to do a smoke round up today driving around to mama/papa stores hoarding all the L&M Blues I can get.

From what I saw the 7-11's had Marlboros as that is what I bought.

I know they were going to try and re-enforce the "smoking in public areas" laws again but by banning smokes is NOT the way. lol

From my travels last night it seems that Family Marts have plenty of L&M, but 7-11 has nothing! Not paid their suppliers maybe?
