People ,, I would like to know your views on Thai Brides websites cost can be from £1,300 - £2,500 pounds to meet a Thai Lady.. One i was looking at claims to be really busy (( Is this REALLY BIG Business )) Would people really go for this kind of service or is it a fast way of trying to make a buck ????? I found it an interesting and insightful experience being totally new to the country, and travelling alone, dont drink and didnt want to meet the ladies that frequent the streets and bars. I needed to find another way to meet them and an agency seemed to fit the bill. Not all men are confident, not all men like going to bars or cruising the streets at night, so there has to be an alternative and an agency is one of them and certainly a safer option. I was met at the Airport, escorted to a nice Hotel, picked-up the next day by a pretty girl and taken to an office to talk things over and make some selections from an album. The ladies I chose were then given my details etc and asked if they wish to meet. If they did a mutual appointment was made at the office and it went from there. They may be providing a legitimate service - hookng you up with available women. Many of the women found online are just as mercenary as any bar-girl and many are just that. There are also loads of women who are quite happy to marry you and divorce you. I even know an attractive lesbian who wants to find a farang husband just so she can graft off of him. Could you meet a great woman online? Perhaps but also realize these are women that are not simply looking for a nice guy (Westerner OR THAI) to marry - they are targeting YOU, farang. I think overall it is a good safe way to meet people and get to know them. You can save a lot of awkward dates by chatting on skype and the like. You have women who either want to meet a potential husband or scam a mark from overseas and you have fellows who are chomping at the bit to have a Thai girlfriend/wife. The company in the middle has nothing to lose as there will always be a nearly endless supply of women out there just as there will always be a nearly endless supply of men. Can you trust them? Who knows... I would be surprised if any detailed background check or communications check will be done on the female. I was referring to an online "agency" not the usual dating sites that offer message services and nothing else. We have all heard the stories of girls running 6 or more men at a time and being paid to do it in some cases. The "sick" relative routine etc. The saying goodbye to one at the airport whilst the next one arrives in a few hours. Agencies are very different, controlled, escorted, chaparoned in some cases,arranged itinerary etc even hotels pre-booked, a far cry from many of the "dating" sites. With the figures mentioned I think this is what the OP had in mind. No one would pay those amounts for a "dating" site that just offered a message system as many do. If you are out of Thailand, why would you seek to meet a thai woman online, especially given the opinions on this and many other fora regarding what is widely purported to be their dis-ingenuousness? On the other hand people who want to be happy but for some reason are not keep on telling themselves and everyone else they are happy every 5 mins. If your happy great enjoy. And why would anyone pay someone 6% to sell their home for them when they could do it themselves? And why does my company pay recruiting agencies big bucks to locate talent when we could go down to Soi Cowboy and find lots of talented, dedicated and super qualified candidates just by listening to their stories... A couple of thousand bucks to find and introduce me to the woman I'll be spending the rest of my life with? Cheaper than dating back home, and a lot cheaper than wasting weeks in high $$$ hotels learning the ropes in a strange town.
