[Myanmar] Oic Delegation Completes Arakan State Tour

A delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) traveled to Burma’s Arakan State earlier this week to inspect the aftermath of communal clashes between Muslims and Buddhists in the strife-torn region. The delegation, led by the OIC’s representative to the United Nations, Ufuk Gokcen, arrived in the state on Sunday and concluded its trip the next day, a Burmese government official said on Tuesday. “They met the union border affairs minister and Rakhine [Arakan] chief minister here and also visited some refugee camps and made donations,†the official was quoted by AFP as saying.
