Camry/teana: 2.0L Vs. 2.5L

Featured Replies

We're just started looking for a new car, and are focusing on either the Teana or the Camry. Anyone may feel free to chime in over that part of the decision.

I am most interested in other's perceptions on engine choice. Nissan dealers don't seem to have any Teanas to test drive, let alone compare the two engines. We found one Toyota dealer that will let us do a test drive, but they only have the hybrid.

There is a bout a 200k baht price differential, so i am curious of others have found the 2.0L to be either adequete or grossly underpowered. I'm no lead foot, but at the same time I don't want to feel like I need to get out and push every time I merge on the motorway. Also, any thoughts on real workd fuel economy between the two engine displacements?

thoughts? Comments?

What else do you get for the 200K besides the extra half liter?

The 2.5 is standard in the US and get an estimated 25MPG (8.85KPL) city and 35MPG (12.39KPL) highway. What does the 2.0 get?

I’m sure the 2 drives okay, but small engines generally have to work much harder to do the same amount of work as a smaller engine. The larger engines sometimes use less fuel, and can last a lot long longer if they are geared such that the engine turns slower.

If I planned to keep it a long time and was not real concerned about the price, I would go with the big engine. If I planned to only drive it a couple years and really wanted to minimize my cost, I would go with the small engine.

If you are not sure, it has been my experience that I never really think about the money after I spend it, but I kick myself in ass every time I drive something I don’t really like because I bought what I thought was a bargain.

the 2.5 in America is a 4 cyl here it is the V6 that was in the infinity G25

You are talking about the Teana yes? I'm doubt the Camry has a Nissan engine.

The V6 in the US Camry is a 3.5

At one time, the V6 Camry in the US got better mileage than the I4.

The V6 should provide a lot more torque…
