Arrest Warrant

Ok, I'm back.

Anyway, the story is true and it was almost certainly a matter of self defense(I wasn't there, no witnesses). The details are not really important here. I have been on ThaiVisa for 9 years, the wolves and "I'm all right Jacks" don't bother me anymore.

And it was a minor dust up, I saw the "victim" the next day. EDIT

I guess the concensus is "you can't be sure". I will try talking to a lawyer. Also, maybe the embassy in the home country?

"PoorSucker" thanks for that info. Unfortunatley (fortunately?) he's not in the country.

for a little money, your friend can easily check his status. just contact any big law firm in Thailand, or even some private investigation team will do it for a few 1000 baht. not a big deal. you can easily buy any information you need in Thailand.

I sincerely hope the guy gets caught and the only assistance I would give this fool is an escort to the police station.

If he committed a criminal act, and a charge is pending, than he is a fugitive from justice, pure and simple. Anyone helping him evade justice is regarded as a collaborator in crime and who the hell would want to become involved with that? Not me, that’s for sure.

I doubt whether this man`s medical problems are severe if he is able get into physical altercations with people.

The OP is being rather vague, so could he please be more specific with the facts and details, or is it going to be the same as usual with these threads that the OP will take a powder and we hear no more?

In distress it must be good to have a friend like you.whistling.gif

I would say, a friend in Thailand could go into the police station where this dust up took place, and say a friend has asked him to donate a 1000 bt to the police orhans fund,

give them his name and mention he is worried about a previous incident where he got into a fight (give date) and was worried that there may have been a warrant issued for his arrest.

I think it's very likely the officer would confirm or not the existance of the warrant.

at worst you would lose a 1000bt

Gone or PaulJones, do you know if the papers have to be handed over face-to-face by the police, or is the mail good enough?

Thanks to those actually helping.

Okay. Here's some actual from experience help. Get 'your friend' to speak to the British Embassy (the only outfit all the many and various admins here actually sit up and take notice of) to inquire on 'his' behalf whether there is an outstanding warrant of arrest for 'him'. Easy. Dear God ...

As an aside, I do believe 'your friend' should stay put. There're enough fools here as it is.
