Forget about the visa, that expires on FEb 27th. Visa cannot be extented.

But your last permission to stay wilol be May 23. Apply for a re-entry permit that allows you to return on or before May 23rd at an immigration office (Suan Plu if you are in BKK)

Costs Baht 1000 for single, 3800 for multiple. Bring 2 color photos, passport, copy of passport (main page and recent entry stamp) and fill in the application form they give you.

Can also be done at the airport, terminal 1 behind check-inn counter No. 6, before departure. At the airport you need to show the boareding pass.

When retruning to Thailand, mark your re-entry permit number as 'visa-number'.

Hi Axel, thanks for reply, hmm im not staying at bkk and would like to get the permit at DonMuang, since u said go there with the boarding pass i assume this permit will be issude in minutes, right?

Right, just allow some more time. First you must check-in to get the boarding pass.

Than, if you are in T 2, must walk over to terminal 1,

The counter itself is usually not busy but...

Same topic, different circumstances. My multiple entry non-immigrant O issued in Penang from Nov. 2005 was (proper term coming up?) 'converted' to a retirement visa, so I don't have to leave country every 90 days. However, I'm going to China. I thought the local Hua Hin office could issue me a re-entry permit (which I've never had, in three years of living in Thailand). So, it'll cost me 1,000 baht for the permit, and 500 baht to leave Thailand?

Funny....on another forum a teacher complained of paying 10,000 to go to Penang to get a B visa. It cost me 11,000 to get my O visa (including all travel and hotel costs, not food), and 1,900 to get it converted. Oh well, it beats 90-day visa runs and annual visa runs to Houston.

It will cost you 1,000 baht for the re-entry permit to keep your extension of stay alive. It will cost you nothing to leave. Oh - you mean the airport tax that are a feature of air travel worldwide? Yes, you will pay that in cash rather than it being as an additional charge to your ticket. :o

I'm just complaining, Lopburi3. Let's see, my approximate costs for visa runs in 2005:

March: visa run to Burma 1,000

March/April: to get non-B in Houston 70,000

July, visa run to Burma, including overstay 1,900

November, run to Penang for non-O 11,000

Extension to retirement, Hua Hin 1,900

Earned in 2005 in Thailand: (108,000)

It's a good thing I didn't come to Thailand to be self supporting.

2004 was a little better, though: I made 212,000 baht, working 'full-time' at government schools.

I knew you were complaining. But why not look on the bright side. If you noticed the information yesterday about some overstays not being allowed to enter other country and on return being deported you might find the year ended better than you thought. :o

Yes, lopburi3, the year ended much better. I haven't worked since July, and have abandoned all hope of ever entering legal employment in Thailand. I now have a retirement visa that erases all pretense of working legally.

We did a poll on this or the other forum, of foreign teachers in Thailand. Virtually none (except the fully credentialled professional teachers recruited in the West) were legal from the moment they taught their first class. Many of us went years without a work permit.

But I'm off topic. Oh, at Suan Phlu, when I mentioned that I had over two years in Thailand. and three non-immigrant B work visas, they asked why I didn't have any re-entry stamps in my passport. I replied, "Because the Thai government schools couldn't get me a work permit!" The immigration police didn't care at all.
