I want to down load from utube any idea what media play to use as have had problems

I use real player on a Mac, I think it works for PCs too

VLC tends to be the best

VLC plays almost anything you throw at it, it's ad free, and it doesn't take up much space. Windows Media Player Classic is okay too.

Not sure if you want a video/flash downloader or a player. For downloader I recommend either Flash and Video Downloader or Realplayer which has a FF plugin in works very well for youtube. If a player, VLC as mentioned above will play Flash fine.

As this is not Chiang Mai specific will move it to the Internet/Computer forum.

YTD is a good downloader for windows users. Linux has other offerings like youtube-dl.

To play the media you can use your normal browser if it is a flash file, or something like vlc which comes in WIndows or linux versions.

Persoanlly I avoid flash - it can overload the browser on smaller laptops. I download in .mp4 format.

internet download manager works great... and really speeds up the downloads.

Also look for the website: Keepvid......it works similar to a download manager.... but you don't need to install anything... just put the link into the browser bar.

I use jdownloader for download from youtube and movies from 1channel.ch I use this software to download a lot of another things.

But faster for normal mp4 quality is the plugin for firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/?src=cb-dl-users

add an icon in the left of the title of the video in youtube, one click and download the video.

for look video files I use VLC too

ITGabs beat me to it by 2 minutes, so make that 2 of us thinking FF+DownloadHelper addon.
