Hi. can anybody tell me where I can buy a Sat/Nav road direction finder in LOS? similar to one of these car models, similar to Street Pilot e320, if so does it give spoken directios in English, Thanks in anticipation.

You could try the nearest SE-ED bookstore chain usually found in most malls/plazas. They only have leaflets and don't have any for show and are for ordering only. At the counter the leaflets should give you an idea of prices.

Or check out your nearest IT store. Zeer Rangsit only has a couple of shops selling them. They can be hard to spot amid all the mobiles and two-way radios in the showcases so look carefully.

BTW, ask if the price includes sofware and/or PC leads for downloading maps.

I bought my Garmin M5 at Tukcom in Pattaya, and it works great. It`s a PDA type with in-car mounts and the ziglighter powersupply has a speaker on it. A falang lady voice directs you as you go, and also informs you when you have f..cked up regarding directions. (And then gives you a recalculated route).

I did a test in downtown Bkk "getting lost", and it guided me perfectly out and to my destination.

If you phone Esri Thailand at 0-2266-9948 they will be able to direct you to the nearest outlet of your choice.

Anyway I know that several of the shops in the Panthip mall holds several Garmin models in stock.

Remember to get the latest 6.7 version of the Thai map. (Ref. http://www.esrith.com/Eanou.cfm )
