Featured Replies

Hello All

Arrived in Chaing Mai some weeks ago planning to b here for a while

I was looking at Satelitte TV checked out True Vision but find it a bit pricy at 1500 bahts a month

Recently came across a shop selling Satelitte dishes and receivers all in package one off payment supply and install 5000 bahts

However they were unable to tell me what channels programmes i would receive

1 Intelsat

2 Asiasat

I would really appreciate any information as to what channels i would receive with Intelsat mabye someone here already has this system or can direct me to a site

Strange how shop sells the equiptment but cant supply info

awaiting your replies

You'll get used to it.

You'd probably get a lot of channels, but none you'd ever heard of before. We already know your provider hasn't heard of them.

I've stayed at small Thai hotels with this sort of service. If you enjoy a lot of infomercials in Hindi, and Korean martial arts dubbed in Thai, it's the way to go.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I used to have a dish that was motorized to receive programming from several satellites. In the beginning, about 12 years ago, there was a lot of decent channels. Slowly but surely, they became scrambled. The only thing left worth watching was ABC (Australia) and Voice of America. sad.png

I actually have satellite dishes set for Asiasat 3S and Intelsat 8 and apart from Chinese, Korean and Indian there is only Hong Kong (part English), Al Jazeera and Austrailan Network in English. Don't waste your money. I actually need these foreign language channels but I doubt you will get much value.

If you want Satellite instead of True go to a decent satellite shop (they do exist) who can tell you exactly what you will receive from what satellite package but nothing is going to get you the spread of True.
