The Definitive Non-Starbucks Coffee Thread

Yes, the aeropress does use a paper filter that is supposed to filter out some of the bad oils in coffee. In fact, Starbucks have switched to paper filters for this reason.

As for the Cafestol, doesn't that sound like a good thing and not a harmful thing or am I reading the wiki wrong?

there was something about cholesterol, but I'd rather cut down on shrimp amounts than on coffee taste.

Spend the $25 and get yourself one of these

you will not regret it.

Looks like a nice machine but I will have to stay with my drip brewer .

i am concerned about cafestol.

Bit off topic, but you probably realise that it's better to suffer from Alzheimer than Parkinson's....................I rather forget paying for my beer than push it over.

I drink Legendee Gold - fake civet sh!t coffee at home

Might wanna treat yourself to the real civet sh!t coffee tho':

http://www.trung-ngu...-luwak-shop.php

I've had the Trung Nguyen Gourmet and the Creative 1 blends and loved 'em.

Trung Nguyen is what first got me to love Vietnam coffee. It's also what Thai customs pulled and made me pay to get out of customs hold.

That civet coffee is a scam.. I hope you all know that.

Coffee won't keep me from sleeping either. However, coffee has a laxative effect on me, so I usually don't go directly to bed after imbibing coffee.

I have 2 cups right after I wake up - made from fresh roasted beans in my Saeco Super Automatic. Coffee also has a laxative effect for me, which helps keep me regular. Now if I could just find somewhere to buy raw unprocessed honey I would be in heaven.

Sounds interesting. The people watching might be good there, too. Haven't been to that market in many years . . . . It was so interesting when I first came to PTY.
