Condo Direction For Cool Living.

Can anyone advise which way is best to have windows facing so as to get least sun? Does CM have prevailing wind direction?

Prevailing wind comes from south, least sun from north. A home with north/south orientation and direct cross-airflow is most desirable.

North I would guess.

Prevailing wind direction seems to change over the year,but I am no expert on either count.

In the Feb/March main burning season the wind and stench seems to come in any window we open!

I had a condo with East facing windows only. Loved the morning sun to wake me up and cool all day.

And I agree most, not all winds came from south or south west

Face directly east. Sun come and gone before it gets hot.I can see the mountains in the distance (smog permitting) Much better view for me than a mountain in my back yard.

If you can get a corner unit then you can have the breeze blowing through the unit.

Be careful when the wind picks up because the draft can turn into a howling gale !

Mainly north facing will be coolest and then east for the rising sun or west for the setting sun (and the mountain and the afternoon heat).
