I am 32, from Britain and due to visa changes i cant apply for my old visa and currently looking what options i have to allow me to stay in Thailand for 1 year or more

I at present not looking to work in Thailand or anything along those lines as i have enough income from home to be able to stay in Thailand. But sadly because of my age, the only aspect of the retirement visa i don't meet is the age

The only real option i have found is educational visa for learning thai which allows you 90 days, then you extend at immigration. Ive read different places you can do this visa for 5 or 10 years.

But i dont know if that end of each year you have to renew it by bounce out the country, or if you just keep extending 90 days at your local immigration but i would guess the first

Also is there something offical about how long you can do this 5 or 10 years. does the standing of the school mean some can do it for longer then others? i dont have a clue, so wondered if anyone on here knew the truth.

Except for education visa, are there any other visa option open to me to stay in Thailand for a year or longer?

I have a feeling from reading the embassy website, educational might be the only option open to me, but hope someone with more knowledge can confirm this

Thanks

Another option would be a Triple Entry Tourist Visa.

This would give almost 9 months with border runs and extensions.

After that you can get another Tourist Visa in a neighbouring country.

Is there a limit on the amount of times you can do this visa? could i do like 3x (3X90) going by what you said above? or is there a point you have to have stayed outside thailand a certain time before you can re apply?

and in reply to your question, no there is no limit , that was abolished quite some time ago, technically you can go in and out or get as many visas as you like. BUT be warned they may start to question your "true" status if you repeat it too often. Like 4 or more back to back double entry visas as an example.

ED visa dosnt have to be for Thai language only.

I will research, but do you know what other thing it can be for? I was previously on a muay thai one year visa, but this has been stopped now.

Thanks for the reply

As stated Ed. Visa, with school documentation visa entension within Thailand, 1,900 Bhat. Can study indefinitely. You have a few hours in the school every week and lots of time to explore Thailand. I started with the Ed. Visa, which later led to work. Now 3 years in Thailand.

3. Copy of evidence showing a transfer of funds from a foreign country to a bank in Thailand

4. Copy of a condominium purchase agreement and a copy of the ownership registration of said

Thanks for all the replies, i think i have enough information how im going to approach my visa situation for the short term 1-5 years in Thailand now. You all been very helpful

And the 10billion baht investment, that also very good news for me as i didnt know about that. That will deff come into play in 5-10 years time if they don't change it. I have a few friends in Thailand i think will want to take advantage of that one also

Thanks again everyone
