20 year old man killed in early morning road crash in Central Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Just after daybreak on Saturday a 20 year old motorbike driver was killed in a road crash involving a Bus and a pick-up.

Police and rescue services were called to the Sukhumvit Road in Central Pattaya, in front of the St Nikolaus Catholic Church, to deal with the accident which left Khun Pornchai dead. He was lying on the road with a severe head trauma and it was determined his head had been run over by the real wheel of the bus, operated by Nakonchai Air which runs between Rayong, Pattaya and Ubon Rachatanee in the North-East of Thailand.

The drivers of the pick-up and bus were questioned by Police and confirmed the same story whereby the bike and its driver drove between both vehicles which were parallel to each other, and the bike clipped the pick-up, a Black Toyota Vigo driven by Khun Somporn aged 45. The bike became unstable and fell to the road along with the driver who ended up falling underneath the bus, which was slowing down to initiate a u-turn maneuver.
