Just reading another post about appealing. Now I have to complete Appendix 2 do I need still to send endless bank statements P60 etc.

I have verified that my salary is above the required minimum so why the need for bank statements?

As you have seen from the posts you refer to, if you do not submit all the required documents then the application will be refused.

Why are they all required? Ask the government, they set the rules.

Unfortunately the need is because the requirements are specified in law ( in the immigration rules). These requirements are new, and we are still feeling our way. There are other threads that show that Embassy in Bangkok are listening to what is being said about the specified evidence required. That said, at this time they are still insisting on all of the documents that are listed. No short cuts yet !

There is another ongoing thread that has refusal notices attached, and you can see that the application was refused because some documents were not provided.

Total public sector bonkers. They change the law to say that I must earn a minimum amount, supply the relavent documentation to prove earnings yet they still want to see bank statements so they can see if you can support your partner. What was the point in changing the law if they can still reject the application on a whim.

I have supplied HMRC evidence that last year I earn £43000. Now they want to see bank statements as well. I can do that I just don't see what it adds except giving an other wise out of work civil servent something to do.

The law is set by politicians, not civil servants; direct your ire toward them.

The application cannot be rejected on a whim. If you supply the required documents and those documents show you meet the requirements then the ECO must approve; just as if you don't supply the documents or your documents show that you don't meet the requirements then they must refuse.
