Public Ministry Requested Nearly 20 Billion to Improve its 30-Baht Health Assurance Scheme

The Public Health Ministry has requested almost 20 billion baht to support its 2006 mid-year budget during the cabinet meeting yesterday.

The Public Health Ministry yesterday requested the cabinet to approve its 2006 mid-year budget costing as high as almost 20 billion baht. The request is said to be vital for the ministry’s ongoing projects such as the 30-baht health assurance scheme and its urgent need to reimburse its medical and healthcare manpower.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture Ministry submitted its intention to extend the deadline for loan assurance for the dry longan projects, while volunteering itself as the guarantor for the loan.

The Ministry of Culture yesterday requested 370 million baht from the cabinet to support its annual Thai culture promotion schemes. At the same time, the Labor Ministry submitted to the cabinet a draft bill on labor protection which seeks to offer better protection to laborors’ interest and to prevent international trade barriers
