British Couple caught-up in bag snatch in Jomtien

PATTAYA:--A British Couple, who were returning to their apartment after celebrating a Birthday were involved in a bag snatch in Jomtien on Tuesday Morning.

Police rushed to the scene of the crime just after 2.30am, on the Sukhumvit Road in front of Soi Wat Boon, and met with the couple who were understandably shaken by the incident. Mrs, Lynne Wellinas aged 48 explained how two young men approached on a motorbike and snatched her handbag which contained 1,000 Baht in cash, a digital camera and personal documents.

Police units scoured the area in search of the two assailants who were eventually found on Jomtien Second Road in possession of the stolen handbag. All parties made their way to Dongtan Police Station on Jomtien Beach where it was determined the two suspected were only 16 and 17 years of age and they claimed they conducted the robbery so they could raise money to purchase Whiskey which they intended to consume with friends on Jomtien Beach.
