Henpecked Husband

Featured Replies

Can't do Thai script, sorry.

But using our alphabet...... ham noi, gai ham noi .... would probably work.

Why do you ask?

Henpecked Husband = ผัวกลัวเมีย crying.gif

This would be my definition if I was writing a not very reliable dictionary.

ผัวถูกจู้จี้จุกจิกขี้บ่นบ่อยๆ มาจากภรรยา

Henpecked Husband = ผัวกลัวเมีย crying.gif

Another informal expression I hear is, mai mee paak.

ไม่มีปาก

สามี ที่ถูกด่าว่า

He's henpecked of course and she can't understand what that English term means so he wants to tell her in her language.

My wife tries to henpeck me but I respond calmly that I work, pay for the house, the car, the food, etc. and I don't need to help clean the house or do the laundry. She runs off and pouts, expects me to come and find out what the problem is, possibly apologize (seriously) , which I told her I won't do, and that makes her even madder.

Oh gotta love Thai Visa once again...

No I'm not hen pecked, and I'm not paying for no house. I'm 20 and living in my own fully paid condo, studying in a Thai university and are very familier with the Thai language and the culture. My girlfriend speaks perfect English unlike yours.

Yet another sterotype of foreigner in Thailand. Sad...

In that case, you appear to have your life pretty much sorted out, well done.

So, why did you ask the first question in the first place?

Because I needed to tell a friend of mine to stop being henpecked.

Ah the 'friend of mine' brigade.

Try that with an Australian girl and you would be dead or worse.

Indeed he does have his life sorted out, 20 years old, studying at a highly acclaimed Thai university, a fully paid condo and a Thai GF who speaks English well. My wife speaks English well too. Being henpecked has nothing to do with a women being Thai, it only has to do with being a woman. My bad for making it sound like Thai women henpeck their mates.

I will have to start all my responses with "maybe, perhaps, in my opinion, one scenario, my guess, etc.". My response was a guess to why a TV member would want to translate henpecked into Thai and more specifically Thai script. Perhaps you are helping create a Thai - English dictionary. Maybe you were reading an English novel and read henpecked and thought, huh I wonder what the Thai word for henpecked is?.

Because I needed to tell a friend of mine to stop being henpecked.

So our intrepid 20 year old ThailandDenmark417, who speaks Thai very well wanted to expand his Thai vocabulary so he can give love advice to a Thai mate. Good show old boy!
