Thai Censors Working Run Amok!

Featured Replies

Last night, on History Channel's "Pickers" series, the boys came across Mickey Gilly. He sold them all sorts of "Gillys" memorabilia, including a neon beer sign. Well, in the interest of us from ourselves, Thai censors saw fit to pixel out the word "beer"!

I suspect it was the Broadcaster who blotted the word beer out - for the reason these programs are broadcast across Asia and the Middle East.

They censor all alcohol and tobacco on Thai TV. A neon beer sign is an advertisement for alcohol and that is definitely prohibited.

Funny how they think some things offensive like beer yet have no trouble printing pictures of dead bodies and body parts on the front page of a newspaper blink.png

Funny that the prematch footy analysis and the actual game itself if full of Singha and Chang logos.

Must be advertising their soda water.

Same in India, all the major alcohol brands sell drinking water and advertise it at the T20 matches.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

The real product's quite close to water anyway. :(
