Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya (ทนง พิทยะ) hopes that the 2nd scheme on development of Thai capital market will push Thai market to grow to the same level as international market within 5 years.

Mr. Thanong revealed that a workshop on the scheme aimed at development of Thai capital market produced a plan that will be implemented for five years. He said that the plan is intended to generate growth for Thai market, so that it can stand on the same par as the international market. He said that there are 7 approaches in the plan, including expansion of securities market by increasing investors in domestic institutes by 20%, supporting individual investors, creating new financial innovations to reduce risks for entrepreneurs and investors, etc.

Meanwhile, President of The Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations, Dr. Kongkiat Opaswongkarn (ก้องเกียรติ โอภาสวงการ) commented on the Federation’s letter submitted to the Finance Minister on Thai Beverage’s listing that it will increase supplies in the stock market and create jobs in the country, adding that if the company is listed on foreign bourse, Thailand will lose business opportunities.

Sure... Another "alice in wonderland" plan. Just look at the "drama" caused by the listing of Thai Beverage...

The government is stucked in its own trap : by creating an atmosphere of hysterical "social crack downs" to divert public attention from all the scandals... it's going to be difficult now to let the company be listed on Thai market.
