It could have been a lot worse. She could have gone through with a wedding, then fleeced him for a few more mill to build her a dream home up country before telling him to piss off back to Pattaya.

Fraud ? Jail them, ....nah. Hopefully he will return where he belongs. There are too many of that kind out here, we can do without them.

What a stupid comment :o

Better stupid than a sleeze ..............

It serves him right!

For german's taxpayers sake I hope this disgusting old man will not get over it :o .

This is one of the reasons why I left Germany: Every month you have to pay hundreds of Euros for the old age pensionsystem/healthinsurance to keep cretins like this alive :D .

A relationship requires a mental connection, not just a physical one. Not sure that our "in love" 70+ year managed to achieve much on either front.

Come on, this guy is old enough to have been in the 2nd world war, and he found the "love of his life" who could of been a grand daughter of his. I am sure that 70 and 80 year olds can have new love, and have seen it in my family, but its with someone they can relate to.

Better to have lost at love than lusted after the lost love of a lost one who is lost, or something like that.

Spike there is a saying in Thai: ''It is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all''.

I like your saying though... :D Try saying that ten times after ten pints. :o

As ever, the milk of human kindness in the forum seems to be dripping in short, somewhat skimmed measure.

As a few posters have already observed the poor old rooster was a victim of the short game, an easy mark but the victim of a crime nevertheless. For that alone he deserves our sympathy and one would hope that the fraudster is pursued even if in our cynical view that may be an unlikely outcome.

What I find intriguing though is the degree of mockery levelled at the guy simply because of the disparity in age between him and the chiselling floozie, as if that set him apart from all the other falang equally duped into parting with their hard earned dosh. Falling for the blandishments of the Thai whoopsie is quite normal and I do wonder at the posters castigating the german for not "knowing better" simply because he is of advanced years. Perhaps it helps them to feel more smug about their own relationships? The thing is, no one ever knows when the hit comes in the long game until, of course, it is too late.

As regards the idiotic comments of tampax or pantstax, whatever his moniker is, surely the poor old bugger has deserved his pension after a lifetime of toil.

I quite agree with you.

I also wonder how much he has contributed over his lifetime to the government fund in order to help provide a possible pension for the likes of you patex??

Nice angle Gent, but I thought it was because he is a German, not the age difference :D

Not the first, and no way the last :o

@ the gent/ Pattaya_Fox

No need to insult :D , even if I touched a nerve...

Are you familiar with the German old-age pensionsystem?

The actual working generation has to pay for the retired. It isn't so, that you pay in a fund and when you are old you get your own earned money.

In the last 25 years the retired became younger and younger and they grew older and older.

Paralel the number of new born Germans sank alarming, do the mathematics :o .

Why do you blame and insult this old man for being alive??

After all it is not his fault that the German Government has required it`s younger citizens to provide for the elderly. The German Pension system has been reformed on a number of occasions as have pension systems from other countries to try to provide for the elderly who happen to be living longer.

Most people accept that this is the situation.

Well, there is a destinct probability that Patex generation will pay for the pensions of the previous, and that when his time comes round, there will be nothing in the pot. Strange when you think about it, its just like Thailand, except in Europe it is legalized in the form of taxes. ( most locals looks after their parents ).

I studied in Europe for most of my life, and can attest that the system there is tax the hel_l out of anyone who works hard and achieve something, and stuff it up the rear end of anyone who has too much self pity for them selves. I understand why Patex left Europe, same reason I did and never looked back.

Never the less, being old does not automatically put you in the "oh the poor old guy" bucket. What in his right mind was he thinking.... did he honestly think that a 23 year old women ( most likely still in the "trade") was going to fall in love with him?. Give me a break. I call it an "economic" marriage, there is nothing to do with love, just convenience.

Never ceases to amaze me about the posts I have seen over the years about some falang complaining about how terrible Thai women were. Try this out, go to the "wallen" in Amsterdam, fall in love with with a lady of the night ( most likely on drugs too ), and then see what kind of a sweet / loyal and loving woman you end up with.

The old german would never have proposed to marry one from the Wallen, so why would he do so in a country more distant in culture.

Yes,

they reformed it: No changes for the actual retired (who are the majority voters) who failed to raise enough children, then increased the retiring- age/contribution for the working generation and also told them to "take private precautions".

Seeing such an old fart wasting "my" money in Thailand on prostitutes makes me wish him dead... not "my" money anymore, but still my mother's/brother's/friend's money :o

Dead ! hel_l no...... nobody deserves that. I think he got what was due to him, and will probably now tell every one in Germany just how bad Thai women are. Problem is he will never really know a "normal" thai woman.

Tampax,

I think it is called the law of diminishing return, but in your case there was never a dividend. You will always be a useless waste of space whereas the pensioner is simply entering into the twilight of his life mercifully free of the self pitying whining of an ungrateful generation that will never know the benefit of my grand uncle who visited your great cities on a weekly basis. And he never got any airmiles!

Now, which bit of my earlier post did you not grasp? I appreciate english may not be your first language but in an english language forum that is not really going to be an issue, is it? Try and think of your previous post as your first attempt at an english homework exercise. Grammar wise, you are doing very well but you have yet to demonstrate any ability to engage what may pass for your brain. One awaits your next attempt but try and make it a little less bovine, ok?

Maybe try putting a point of view about the topic rahter than trying to slag someone off

You're jsut as bad as the father who gives his kids an allowance- disapproves of how they spend it and claims they are wasting HIS money. It's not his money - he gave it to them - it's their's - they can waste it how they want. Or how about the money you give to your Thai GF/wife? Do you have a problem with how she spends it? Is it still YOUR money? I think the lady might not agree. If the poor old German Kraut sex starved nutter chooses to throw his pension at a lying cheating floosie - it's HIS money and he has a free choice. It ain't YOUR money - (never was, probably). You can feel sorry for him, hate him, not care about him or whatever, but he was spending his own money, not yours, or your brother's........etc. :D:D:o

I have to confess that Miss Patex is the earning part of the family, I hope this is not a problem?

Responsible parents who give an allowance/money to their kids, give it, that these learn to use money in a responsible way, buying ridiglious amounts of sweeties, cd's, telephonecards or even better cigarettes, alcohol, drugs from THEIR PARENTS money can't be the point.

If the old german feels no urge to use his pension, money my mother/brother/friends/working germans have to pay for him, in a responsible way he doesn't deserve it.

Define a "normal" thai woman.

This is a stupid post :D It's really easy to be critical AFTER THE FACT. What if the girl had actually married him, taken care of him, and gave him enjoyment in his final years? Would he then have spent the money in a 'responsible way'? He was conned....plain and simple. Very naive on his part but still he is the victim.

On second thought, who the <deleted> are you to decide what is a 'responsible way' to spend one's own money?

Very easy to understand why Miss Patex earns the money. :D Even menial jobs require a certain amount of common sense....something you obviously lack. :D:D:D
