CHIANG MAI: -- Thai police have arrested an Australian national, already wanted in Queensland on child-molestation charges, in the abduction and attempted rape of a 2-year-old girl, police said Thursday.

Jason Daron Mizner, 31, was arrested Wednesday in the Mae Rim district of Chiang Mai, after his Thai girlfriend pressed charges against him for molesting her daughter.

Mizner, who fled to Thailand last Nov 28, had proposed marriage to a Thai woman in Chiang Mai and on Monday had asked her to let him take her daughter to his home for company, said Mae Rim Police Maj Chatchawal Saengboon.

When her daughter was returned, the woman suspected she had been sexually violated and pressed charges against Mizner.

A hospital examination of the girl confirmed sexual contact, Chatchawal said.

He said Mizner faces charges of child abduction, attempted rape and producing child pornography.

A VCD of Mizner and the child were found in the Australian's rented house, Chatchawal said.

CHIANG MAI: -- An Australian man wanted for sexually abusing a young girl in Australia was arrested in Chiang Mai on charges of attempting to rape a 2-year-old girl, police said Thursday.

Jason Daron Mizner, 31, was arrested Wednesday in Chiang Mai after his Thai girlfriend informed police he had taken her daughter for an overnight trip Monday and that the child appeared to have been sexually violated. A medical examination of the child confirmed the suspicion, said police Col. Montree Sampunyanoud.

According to police, the couple was living together in Mae Rim, near Chiang Mai, and Mizner told his girlfriend he wanted to spend the nightat an apartment he maintained in Chiang Mai. He suggested he take the child with him so the two could become closer and she agreed, police said.

Mizner, from the eastern Australian state of Queensland, faces up to15 years in prison if convicted of attempted rape of a minor and abducting the child from her mother, police said.

According to Montree, an Australian warrant was out for Mizner's arrest. He is wanted in Queensland for allegedly taking pornographic photos and molesting a 3-year-old girl, Montree said.

A few years ago my flatmate and myself came across a charlatan and in pursuing him further we found sme frightening evidence concerning him and young children - no pics but lots of circumstantial evidence on the web etc.

We passed this info on to someone who informed the police - they did not seem interested at first but someone did take an interest.

When they caught up with him in scotland he was doing exactly the same sort of things as the accused above was with a 8 year old girl I think it was.

He used to advertise himself as a Psychologist among other things to get close to children as well as having elationships with single mothers - his adverts in lonely hearts often expressed a desire for a ready made family.

He got a life sentence for this but the tariff was set at only 6 years (for none UK readers a tarrif is the min someone must serve of a life sentence before they are eligible for parole - most do not get out on a min I believe)

Gold Coast yoga teacher Jason Daron Mizner was arrested in the northern city of Chiang Mai.

It is alleged his girlfriend found a videotape of the 31-year-old man attempting to have sex with her two-year-old daughter.

Chiang Mai police say after his arrest, Mizner admitted to the crime which carries a possible life sentence.

They say he also confessed to being wanted in Queensland for similar offences involving a three-year-old girl.

Prosecutors are waiting for medical reports and the results of forensic tests on items seized from Mizner's apartment before bringing him to Court later in the month.

It is not clear how Mizner escaped detection at Immigration prior to leaving Australian territory.

The Foreign Affairs department has the power to revoke Mizner's passport but it is not clear if it has done so yet.

Australian authorities are investigating a Queensland man who is facing child sex charges in Thailand.

Gold Coast yoga teacher Jason Daron Mizner could be jailed for life if he is found guilty of the offences overseas.

Inspector Jim Keogh says police will wait for the outcome of the charges before deciding whether they will seek Mizner's extradition to Australia.

"We're certainly looking at it further in conjunction with the Australian Federal Police," he said.

"The allegations here are quite serious and in fact the allegation in relation to the incident in Thailand relates to a three-year-old child as well so we are certainly looking at it from a very serious viewpoint and detectives are working on it to ascertain how far spread it is and what other charges may be proffered."

POLICE yesterday raided the home of an accused Gold Coast pedophile arrested in Thailand for allegedly attempting to rape a two-year-old girl.

The waterfront mansion of yoga teacher Jason Daron Mizner's parents also was raided and computer discs seized.

Mizner, 31, was arrested in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai on Thursday after his girlfriend allegedly found a videotape of him attempting to have sex with her two-year-old daughter.

Thai police said Mizner had admitted to the crime, which carries a possible life sentence. They said he had also confessed to being wanted in Queensland for similar offences involving a three-year-old girl.

Burleigh Heads CIB chief Inspector Jim Keogh said Gold Coast detectives were investigating.

A man who answered the phone at the home of Mizner's parents said no one was willing to comment.

Thai prosecutors are awaiting medical reports and the results of forensic tests seized from Mizner's Chiang Mai apartment before bringing him to court later this month.

I doubt it is untrue as they've shown his photo on the worldwide news and they've done tests on the little baby.

This pathetic creature deserves whatever the courts throw at him. Preferably time in a Thai jail not an Aussie holiday camp.
