3Bb Internet Offers

Featured Replies

I've been using 3BB's Premier international 3 Mb program for several years paying about 1100 baht/month. It's not the fastest but it rarely fails so I keep using it.

I went to Computer Plaza yesterday to see what packages are currently available. They have the usual exciting 590b/month 10Mb but it's only for Thailand, not international. They have 13Mb international for 900 a month now but the staff said it's not reliable (maybe 20 users on a link). The staff said I could try it but if I wanted to go back to my current program I can't...I'd have to then use the Premier 5Mb for 2700/month. He said my current package is no longer offered so if I switch I'd be losing it as an option. Unseen Thailand!

Has anyone tried the 13Mb program? Is anyone using 5Mb program and can verify that it's much, much faster and worth the money? Is there a better program for 1000-1500/month besides 3BB?

Thanks.

Yeh, I have a couple of the 3 Meg Premier packages and they tell me if I change then I can,t have it.back again I ALSO HAVE 3 of the 10 Meg packages and they work great and international, but I have the old deal a 963 baht. Right this minute I am waiting for the new price 10 Meg to be installed and I will be disappointed if it,s not international but to be honest I never thought service was country specific.

What IS the difference between Thailand and "International"? I'm on the 3BB pauper package and it's ok, torrents can be slow at times but hey... @ 540 bt per month (prepaid) its ok.

I have the 13Mbps package but started off with the 9 and they recently auto upgraded to 13 for the same cost. It will depend a lot on your location and whether they use the phone lines for ADSL or a direct line. My previous house and my current one I've had 3BB were direct lines and the performance and reliability have been excellent, both local and International. But as I mentioned, your mileage may vary depending on location and if it is a full moon or not. biggrin.png

The upgrade of the cheap 3B to 10MB is absolutely NOt = noT of any useful speed for international connections. In my case and location, for example, youtube is frequently interrupted on the small resolution. I cannot prove it, but I think I'national connections might be worse. And with school out now, I don't suppose I'll know for a while what the situation is.

Were I a citizen streaming from BKK, I'd be happy, however, according to my broadband tests.

My new 10 meg system installed. Works great worldwide. Great value for money.

I have the same as you op--albeit 4 down, 1 up--and was also told the same a year or so ago. Not worth the risk as the current connection is pretty solid at all times.

Those who mentioned being happy with the 10Mb package...is that the one I see listed for 590 baht/month?

onthedarkside,

Let me know how your new 10Mb package works out. is it listed for 900/month.

I'd love to get a better speed for the same money. I can't believe you can't try 10Mb for a month and go back to 3Mb. They obviously have the technology to keep my present package going. Dare I say they just want more money?

YouTube originates from outside of Thailand so you are already using and testing the international connection.

What I think ISPs are saying about the speed is that they will only guarantee it for in country. For us in CNX, we may get that on a speed test linking to BKK, but our speeds from overseas locations like London or Seattle will vary from one minute to the next based on many factors.

True offered 20MB via cable for 1300/month in my area.

Just a little technical insight to YouTube and they use a cloud based CDN (Content Delivery Network) that is a geographical distribution of their caching servers. They are also load balancing servers and could switch mid stream and is why sometimes YouTube streams very well on some videos and at other times not so well, assuming same local traffic loading.

Seems to be working just fine. I'm not at that location right now. But I am at my home which has the old 3BB 10 Meg package at 963 baht, data rate has been upgraded to 13 Megs but clocks at 2.77/0.88.

edit// just switched over to 3 Meg premium, data rate 3.5 megs and clocks at 2.24/0.6

I have the 10Mb offer for 590bht/month + VAT = 631bht

Connection speed is actually 11,768kbps down and 634kbps up.

Very fast connection both inside and outside Thailand

I have 3BB premier 5 down 1 up for 2500 a month and an annual prepay which brings it down to 2300 a month.

I used to have a trye 16 or 20 down plan and it was not good enough for Vonage and uploading large photo files movies etc.

When I switched to 3BB premier my problems went away and never came back. As long as it is available to me I won't switch but i am moving next year....
