Queue Online.....immigration

Featured Replies

Five months ago I reserved a date and time to do extend my Retirement Visa for next month.

Now I've been told by a mate of mine here that they've got a new system in place and that my old booking is invalid. Is he right?

He's wrong. I reserved one about 8-9 months ago and I know another member did it nearly a year ago and they were honored. Did it just last week. If you have the queue card printed out then that is proof in case there is an issue but so far reports indicate there has been no problem honoring the older reservations.

You can't book more than 100 days in advance.

However, if you made your booking before the new rule came in then it will be honoured.

I'm a member that did it last September.

Thanks for the good news gentlemen and the quick responses.

Does anyone know if your current visa extension expires on the 15th of a month, the earliest date prior to the 15th you can come in to renew? I would like to get it done during the 1st week of the month if possible rather than wait until the actual expiration date.

Thanks

Two weeks before is not a problem. Believe 30 days prior is the earliest to renew an extension.

Agreed.

But just to be on the safe side, it is still a good idea to visit and have confirmed by Immigration that the apppointment is still valid well prior to the appointment date.

And for members (myself included) that are not on top of arithmetics, will there be a red flag if one tries to book an appointment more than 100 day's in advance?

I'm thinking about red day's , Saturdays etc. Should they be counted within the 100 day's? unsure.png

Do a trial run and let us know the answer. biggrin.png

The on-line reservation system won't let you book more than 100 days in advance or on days when the office will be closed. They added that enhancement at the same time they installed the 100 day rule.

I ran a test yesterday and the government holidays are now recognized and not allowed to reserve.
