I'm looking for a place that sells concentrated sulphuric acid (85%).

This is used to pretreat seeds to facilitate better germination.

Anyone knows where I can find this?

Seeds in question are: Mucuna bracteata, is drought resistant and shade tolerant. Nitrogen fixing capacity of this was found to be high. It grows fast and covers the field very quickly thus, it suppresses all weeds.

Thanks

Try the Farming in Thailand forum.

There are CM members who post there who might be able to direct you to a local place that sells what you're looking for.

A big car/truck Battery place..i dont know what the percentage is but, they will have sulphuric acid for recharging used lead acid batteries ...they mix it with water to dillute it...

REMEMBER if you mix sulphuric with water for any reason....NEVER ADD WATER TO SULPHURIC, ALAWAYS ADD SULPHIRIC TO WATER......Or you will lose your sight (it will blow up in your face)...and add the sulpuric under the water AND slowly..

shooting from the hip i'd say "seeds plus H2SO4 85% = kiss your seeds good bye!"

Some seeds need very acidic conditions before they will germinate. Breaks down the seed coat, the seed would naturally get this in the digestive system of an animal.

Hydrochloric acid would work, I'm sure both are available at the chemical shop on Suthep road, near Wat Suan Dok.

That was my first thought also but found it is a technique used - Cover Crops

Apparently used to remove the hard outer cover.
