Australians Retired In Thailand

Can any fellow Australians retired in Thailand advise if one must return to Aust at least once a year so as to be still able to claim the Centrelink retirement pension. I contacted the Hobart office but all they did was quote all the regulations but would not answer the question.

Typical robotic reaction from someone that works in a Australia Government office. They are there to help the taxpayer and all they want to do is quote regulations.

Age Pension Generally able to be paid indefinitely, proportional after 26 weeks.

I have contacted my local Federal politician to clarify as one will be retaining bank accounts in Aust.
