Bacon Bones

Featured Replies

Does any one here know where I might purchase bones?

I have a predilection for Pea and Ham soup but rarely find it available in supermarkets and even then the soups are only an imitation of the real Mc Coy..

Would really love to cook some up myself.

TIA

On the canal route near Huay Kaew intersection is the Thai French Butcher and they sell cut up cow bones. Great for the marrow. Very inexpensive also.

Pick out a bone and then have them cut them to preference.

We cook ham and throw away the liquor. Its very tasty but quite salty. Also have ham offcuts. Pm me if interested

Split pea soup and beef sounds horrible.

Several places in Muang Mai Market.....

Although I must admit, I've seen hair on bacon but never have found a bone in my bacon.

You are probably meaning like a ham bone and if so suggest you try subbing a smoked pork hock [pork knuckle]. Gives you that smoked ham flavor but also having bits of the pork itself.

IMO the Beerstube restaurant near Thapae Gate has pretty good ham and pea soup for those of us who do not like to cook.
