Small Amount Of Rice

First, I want to thank everyone for all your replies to questions I have posted on this forum.

Okay, I have a sentence here that I want to use to request some rice with 1 food item. The place I would order from would be a cafeteria environment where you take a tray and get in line. You then go to an area where they have multiple food items and you pick 1 or more food items to go with your rice. I am wanting to request rice with 1 food item. That food item might be something like fried vegetables or similar. My request has a little twist to it, in the fact, that I want only a small amount of rice. By default, you get a large amount of rice and a small amount of the food item. I understand the logic behind the large amount of rice because it allows them to serve less of the more expensive food item and fill you up on the less expensive rice. However, I don't want all that extra rice. By requesting less rice, you usually end up with more of your food item choice (fried vegetables, etc.). So here is my sentence. I have used it and it appears to work. I do get some mean looks though. I am not sure if it is my grammar or if they are upset I have learned how to get more of the more expensive food item. Please feel free to offer suggestions.

Okay, I think this is an improvement on my original sentence.

ผมขอข้าวน้อย ๆ และกับข้าว 1 อย่างครับ

I want a small amount of rice with 1 food item.

Dont know where you are eating, the servings are the same where I eat, eg 1 spoonful of food and say two spoonfuls of rice.

So whether you ask for a small serving of rice or not makes no difference to the amount of food you will be served.

If you only want a small amount of rice, try these,
