Good Bar/pub In Cm To Hang Out In: Any Suggestions?

Just a small comment, and I'm sorry if this is a buzz kill.

Comments about "bar-fines", "eye-candy', etc. are treading a very thin line.

And no, I'm not the Church Lady, as the many members on here who know me personally can testify.

Let's try to keep the topic on what the OP asked, which was "a good bar/pub to hang out in", and not get too fevered with other extra information.

Lots of good info here- saw a few places I'd never been to before that I will have to check out, and thanks for the postings.

The Op asked.

1) price of a big Leo beer or other interesting and inexpensive ways to get drunk.

2) friendly staff & regulars

3) relaxed atmosphere

4) a little eye candy (I mean women), to make the beer taste all the sweeter. (Honestly I don't expect much, this is more of a wish)

5) location: for me closer to the old city is better. Anybody's "regular bar" shouldn't be too far away, IMO.

Suggest you keep knitting your leg warmers.

No. 1 Bar is gone, it's moved elsewhere. Last time I was in that Soi, Number two had about three customers and is probably on the way out.

You mean the 1 from Loi Kroh? Say it isn't so!!!! Moved to where? Another bar opened up in their place?

Number 1 is of course still there. What Chicog may have attempted to say is that the part of Number 1 that is on the Eastern side of the small soi is currently not open; as it's low season there's no need. They did this last year too.

I think you might find the original bar you speak of is slightly more permanently closed now. There isnt much left inside, its pretty much gutted.

The bistro opposite is certainly still open.
