looks an interesting option to FRA, just checked prices for 3 adults in April got a price of 1944Euros total.

Interesting, a 11-13 hour flight on a B737-400, should be cosy !

Wonder where & how many refuelling-stops they will need ?

Their fleet statement says 777 for long-haul with engineering at Don Muang. Sounds like a pie-in-the-sky start up to me.

"...serving our passengers with two legendary Boeing 737-400"

In the context of modern air transport, words like legendary, classic or historic do not inspire confidence IMO.

I suspect that, as soon as they have signed up enough pax, they will quickly sign a wet-lease with one of the usual Chinese carriers and slap their logo on the old buckets.

With a range of about 3.500 Km that would be 2 stops.

But I doubt they would use these aircraft.

Anyway guys, plse don't shoot the messenger.

That's why it can't be with a B737-400 they don't have the range.

Sorry, didn't mean to give that impression ! wai.gif

The website says they hope to add a B777, but doesn't say it will be from the start, when the two B737-400s are their fleet.

I've flown on an old charter-configuration DC8 from Stockholm to Gambia, and know that UK charter-airlines used to run B757s to Goa and the Maldives (both needed a refuelling-stop along-the-way), but DMK-FRA would be even longer on a narrow-body jet.

Hope it works for them anyway. smile.png

On the website under Fleet it does specify a 777-200ER.

Also wonder where they purchased the 737-400's from?

to beanO; enlighten your knowledge, hardly ANY airline buys planes-they are all leased.

BTW; for april/may/early june it is very easy to get returns, ex-FRA, to BKK, at very short notice too, for around 555-in decent and good airls, sometimes even on TG. Thats the usual slowest time of all seasons. used to be 499-but those times seem to be over. Also a little less in nr around september. Which makes it no deal at all. Check trabber.de or fly.de

Have found some other news regarding this airline.

Apparently they will start operations on December 19th this year with 2 weekly flights return to Frankfurt.

What's interesting to note is that they advertise the same price for FRA/DMK as for DMK/FRA which I believe is fairly unique.

It also seems they have their office in place at DMK terminal 1 and are recruiting staff, and the flights would be on a B777 (leased).

Anyway the dearth of publicity is not a good omen and I hope it's not a repeat of the Phuket Airlines story.

That's it for the moment. Awaiting further developments.
