PATTAYA:--A successful food vendor and his wife were arrested by Pattaya Police on Thursday Night accused of stealing a 25,000 Baht gold bracelet from around the wrist of a woman who was driving home.

The incident occurred in Soi Kao Ta Low in East Pattaya and Police are struggling to understand the motive behind the street robbery as the two suspects are known to run a successful food stall at the Thepprasit Weekend Market in Jomtien and were described as being in a “comfortable” financial position. Police Colonel Tamanoon, the Pattaya Police Chief announced the arrest of Khun Sitipong aged 24 and his wife Khun Bitsana aged 25.

They were reportedly on their way to pick up their cousin in Soi Kao Ta Low when they claim to have seen the victim, Khun Kanokwan aged 40, wearing the gold bracelet and decided in a split-second to drive up next to her and attempt to steal the item. The robbery was successful but the pair were caught close-by after Police were notified of the incident. The victim had just left the Tesco-Lotus Store on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya after visiting a gold shop to exchange some of her gold for money. She decided to keep the bracelet which was snatched by the Husband and Wife team minutes later.

wai.gifUMMMM...me too..

Such an odd title, had to open it from the topic round-up email...

Would they still have been arrested if they were financially unstable?? One wonders whistling.gif

Have you ever calculated the likely accounts of a food vendor? I have, in moments of idleness.

The nice lady that I buy my 40B seafood noodle soup from probably earns more than many farangs working in Thailand.

One word...... GREED....

Poor victim got screwed by the gold shop, than robbed again by the dumbass duo.

The motive is simple, opportunist thieves, dosn't take too much to work out does it?
