If one buys a laptop computer in U.K. and brings to THailand where you reside, can you claim the VAT back at the departing airport in the U.K.( with the relevant documentation) Also what proof do you need to have to show, that your home is in Thailand? Thx.

I'm happy to be corrected but I believe that if you are a British citizen you can only claim a VAT rebate upon leaving the UK if you are non-domiciled for tax purposes.
