I cannot give any tips as my bet for the 1985 cup is still runnung somewhere.

The Downunder Bar on Loh Kro is also showing the Cup, starts at 0905 from memory and if you dress up you may win a prize.

Thats at the rear of the Bazaar, opposite the money exchange place right?????

Almost correct ... extreme Western end of Loi Kroh just before River Market and the Iron Bridge intersection.

From SK Money Exchange, turn left then right down LK toward Night Bazaar.... near that once infamous hotel site.

For those that may be interested....

It’s being touted as the best Melbourne Cup field in years and the TAB agrees, with the going tough in terms of separating the leading hopes in the 152nd running of The Great Race at Flemington tomorrow.

In keeping with the increasingly international flavour of the Melbourne Cup, European raiders are to the fore again this year, with Dunaden, Americain, Red Cadeaux and Mount Athos .

Americain is fixed odds favourite at the TAB at $6 for the win, with last year’s Cup winner Dunaden and Mount Athos next in line at $7.

British runner Red Cadeaux ($9) rounds out the leading hopes of a powerful European contingent.

Form Guide and odds.......

A different perspective from the Herald Sun:

DUNADEN was the subject of a monster betting plunge at today's Call of the Card to win back-to-back Melbourne Cups.

Bookmakers offered $8 and were knocked off their stands, including one bet of $50,000 placed with Eskander's Betstar.

It was a different story though with 2010 Cup winner Americain, who drifted to $7 and attracted little Interest.

Bookmaker Tom Waterhouse took plenty of bets on last year's runner-up, Red Cadeaux, at $12.

Despite the lack of interest in Americain, owner Gerry Ryan remains upbeat about his chances tomorrow.

"He was unlucky when he carried 58kg and ran wide before finishing fourth last year," Ryan said. "Plus Damien (Oliver) is in form. All we want is a bit of rain."

Americain takes on Dunaden 4.5kg better off and meets runner-up Red Cadeaux 2kg more favourable than last year.

"I picked barrier 12 when he won (in 2010), so hopefully that is a bit of an omen," Ryan said.

I googled "Melbourne cup Thailand" and there appears to be some real gala events happening tomorrow, the downside is that they are in BKK. Prices starting around 3,000 baht to 9,000 baht entry fee to the functions. Some wise monkey should consider planning an event for next year in Chiangmai.
