Are There Movies You Watch Over And Over?

I love movies. There are no movie theatres in Nakhon that show new English movies so DVDs to the rescue.

However, there are some movies I just like to watch again and again. Not necessarily the best movies ever made, just movies I love.

When I was a kid Wizard of Oz played on tv every year around Easter I think then as an adult I bought it necause it was comforting to watch. I haven't watched it in a while though.

For some unknown reason, I like "Lake Placid" alot.

I also like "Under the Tuscan Sun"

My husband (he is Thai) loves Titanic, it's always near the DVD player if not in it.

So, what is it for you?

"Local Hero" would be my all-time favourite movie to watch over and over. It is so subtle in its humour, that you keep seeing something funny every time you watch it.

I can watch the original "Blues Brothers" often, also "Breaking Away"....both mainly because of the music, and the way the score supports the plot.

I used to enjoy watching "Tootsie" and "Kramer v Kramer", too.

Great topic Gisele. Most true too as there are some movies that I can just watch over and over and never get sick of them. Everytime one of these movies comes on the tele, the wife always complains with "UUGGHH! This movie again?"

I have quite a few of these, so lets see.

Air America -- A funny movie that never gets boring to me. It was my first glimpse into SEA life, whether its accurate or not, and I just can watch it all the time.

Rounders -- A funny & dramatic movie about two close friends who are New York poker players looking for big money.

Dawn of the Dead (2004) -- This movie plays on my cable system all the time and for some reason, I never get sick of watching it. It just has a watchable quality to it but I can't pinpoint what it is.

Godfather 1 & 2 -- Do these two movies need any explanation?

The Blues Brothers -- A great funny movie that people from Chicago just love. Also some great music in it too.

Pirates of the Carribean - I love it, and never ever get tired of seeing it. Johnny Depp just amuses me so much in that film.

Also Love Actually, although I dont own it on DVD, if it comes on the movie chanel I can sit and watch it, as I think it is a very lovely film.

.........and now (according to your avatar) you are 18 years old and get undressed as a peasant.

Just kidding. :o

I know this may be a little off topic but could you give some more information on your involvement in this movie. Which scene, pay scales, how were you chosen..(casting couch???) etc.

Whenever Terminator 2 (not 1 or 3) is shown on cable I find myself not clicking away and watching way too much of it with a smile on my face.. That is just a seriously entertaining movie, and VERY good (effective, not over the top) special effects, and not just for that era.

Also Shrek is hilarious.

Any Mr. Bean episode (the TV ones)

Quite a few as already mentioned.

Local Hero for the humor and Burt Lancaster.

The Third Man and A Touch of Evilbecause Orson was an acting and directing genious.

The Blues Brothers for the carnage and music.

Dawn of the Dead(both versions) Because it's just one of those movies were I'm always saying to myself "If I was in that situation, I'd do this or I'd do that."

Others inc.

Poltergeist and The Evil Dead Just enjoyable.

Scream. Great movie spoof.

The Haunting (original b/w) My own imagination alone made it too scary to watch at times.

The Entity Just scary.

Last American Hero Because Arnie takes the mickey out of himself.

As Good As It Gets and most any other film with Jack Nicholson.

Plus too many more to mention.

Life of Brian

Particularly Good Friday and Christmas. Wore out the VHS: now have it on DVD.

A classic for all the right resons - cuts right to the chase and is so true. One of my favorite bits is where Brian loses his Sandal - "this means we must gather sandals in great abundance" Then the disagreement arises, "that's not a sandal, that's a shoe". Simply wonderful!!!

Ooops, forgot to mention, the movie I have watched most - Betty Blue. Any other fans of French Cinema out there???

Well it was quite easy really, my Dad was a member of Equity (the actors union) so I had lots of small parts and walk on's when I was a kid, it was cool, and decent money too (which my Dad pocketed for later years!)
