Suspected Beer Bar scam artist arrested by Pattaya Police

PATTAYA:--In the early hours of Thursday, Pattaya Police arrested a 35 year old woman, accused of cheating a number of bar owners out of over 1 Million Baht by faking bank transfers and failing to pay for Bar Bills.

The arrested woman, Khun Alanyar aged 35, denies all allegations brought against her despite strong evidence produced by 10 complainants who reported a number of cases to Pattaya Police where the suspect is alleged to have cheated them out of money.

One of the complainants is Khun Tasawan aged 41, a Beer Bar Owner, who told us that earlier in the week, Khun Alanyar came to her Bar and claimed her “wife” was currently in Dubai and was extremely wealthy. During the night she ran up a bill of over 100,000 Baht with multiple “ Bell Rings” and paid Bar Fines for a number of the workers in the Bar. Khun Tasawan allowed the bill to be carried over as Khun Alanyar claimed she had no money. She returned the following 2 nights and carried on spending large amounts of money, ending up with a total bill of around 350,000 Baht.

The figures are totally unbelievable and the stupidity of bar staff and owners would be off the scale if any of this were ture.

Yes, there may well be a scam but it is impossible to run up any 'credit' in any bar, where you simply turn up and start ordering.

man ive had bills of 20 and 30 thousand when out on a gogo bar spree but I can only imagine what a 100k binge would be like in a beer bar.

Even at 150 baht a drink, that's 666 drinks in one night. Don't see how this is possible in a beer bar. Even if have 20 customers/staff, that's more than 30 drinks per person.

Kind of wonder about all the news we read, if a reporter can come up with these kinds of numbers. Maybe it was like 100 baht or 1000 at the most. Im not a bar person, but I doubt they give much credit here. She would have to have a bin box, the size of a garbage can, to hold all of her bills.

I know what happened:

Khun Tasawan (the Beer Bar Owner) had (only the night before) gone to the local Wat to make merit, and whilst doing the devotions, had prayed for a sucker to come into the bar so that she could rip them off.

Unusually her wishes came true, however the sucker was already IN the bar. Her. But she did get what she prayed for.
