patongphil
If you apply for an extension of stay some 30 days before your existing extension expires when is the extension dated from - the day you apply or the date that your previous extension would have expired? wayned
The date your previous extension expires!
IMA_FARANG
It starts from the day your current extension (or visa if it is your first extensiom) expires. The extension is for one year from the date of visa/extension you have. In my specific case: Arrived in Thailand with Non immigrant O multi entry 1 year visa which expired 15 October 2011. Did my initial retirement extension on 15 September 2011 and extension was until 15 October 2012. On 5 October 2012 did my 2nd extension and am now valid until 15 October 2013. Everything's keyed on that 15 October date my initial visa expired. Edited November 17, 2012 by IMA_FARANG

ubonjoe
You should not have any problems as long as you have all the needed copies and proof income or bank balance.
montereyjp
While we are on this subject and I am sure this answer is already posted but save me the search please... My current retirement visa is not multiple entry so I have to get a re-entry permit every time I leave Thailand. I want to switch to a multiple entry, can I do this when I apply for my extension? I understand it cost more... TIA
Lite Beer
A Multi Entry Re Entry Permit costs 3800 Baht. Sent from my i-mobile i-note WiFi 9 using Thaivisa Connect App
lopburi3
No your retirement extension of stay does not allow any travel. But as said above you can buy a multi re-entry permit at any time to allow unlimited travel during the remaining period of time on your extension of stay.
