Why do you think chelsea fans don't like Avram? Sure, he is not a first choice manager, but as far as I know fans don't mind him and would welcome him to the club.

I seem to remember at the time a lot of bad press about his relationship with the Chelsea fans.

A fan flew over the ground with a banner reading " Avram Grant..............Millwall Legend"laugh.png

A few examples below. One thing is for sure... he would not be the most popular choice.

I hope he does ok because i like the guy. Seems a truely decent bloke which makes his choice even more concerning.

needs back in the game at a club where he can work with good players. chelsea have a lot of good players. be interesting to see how he deals with terry.

Think it will be a case of how Terry deals with him

All but one of those articles is recent. In the wake of Jose getting the sack, Avram was seen as an unacceptable manager, but as time went on people warmed to him a bit.

He never lost at home.

He went on a 16 game unbeaten streak.

Took chelsea to the cl final beating Liverpool on the way - something Jose struggled with.

2nd in the prem.

Overall, he didn't do too bad really. I agree that Benitez is probably the worst manager on a personal level for CFC fans, but Avram would be given much more of a welcome.

Why don't Chelsea just get on with it and make their beloved JT the manager. Certainly the fans choice, they love him. And lets face it, the old guard only want to listen to a manager if he's an old mate!

Then the new manager, could offer a lucrative contract to Franky Lamps as DofF and make Cashley asst manager

Job done, and i'd be very interested to see how well that idea would fair in a poll at stamford bridge.

Ideally then, it would open the door for a return of Jody Morris to captain the new side.

Yes carms, i think that's definitely the way forward, perhaps with Dennis Wise involved as well 113.gif

It's not about when the muppet goes, it's about the next muppet who enters the fold.

My vote Sam Allardyce......big long ball to Torres at every opportunity (for a whole season).

That should please RA wink.png

Roman should just appoint himself, he clearly thinks no manager knows what they are doing, so just cut out the manager and let him pick his own sides which he is clearly doing already.
